Two people, including a suspect, were killed in a shooting Monday morning at a mall in Prince Rupert. The victim was an employee of the regional office of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The Prince Rupert shooting was an “isolated incident”.
In the northern shore city, a man who shot himself after killing a woman in a shopping mall has also died.
Police say it was an “isolated incident” and that the 44-year-old gunman and the 52-year-old victim knew each other, but did not say how. Police say that the woman died before she could be taken to the hospital and the gunman was in critical condition but died hours later.

The Prince Rupert murder-suicide suspect has been identified as 44-year-old Shawn Yeung.
He was part of the Canadian Border Services. Yung allegedly shot and killed Patty Forman at a mall and then shot himself. CBSA has confirmed to Glacier Media that he was an employee of CBSA (The Canada Border Services Agency)
